SORRELLS REUNION 2005
The first national SORRELL/S
Reunion
was held in Nashville,
TN on July 8 and 9. Over 30 SORRELL/S
from OR, NC, TX, OH, AR, KY, IL, MS, GA, LA, MO, FL, AL, and of course
TN were
present. Of those in attendance, 17 are
members/immediate family of the SORRELL/S DNA project.
During the weekend, SORRELL/S
researchers presented their
family genealogy lines and distributed copies for those in
attendance.
This was a tremendous opportunity to meet
those who share a common line and to recruit additional members for the
project. The DNA project and the
available tests were explained fully, followed by a time of questions
and
answers. Only one week later, we
already have two new members and two current members ordering new
tests.
Mark SORRELLS, who plays jazz at
top spots around Nashville,
provided the luncheon entertainment.
Plans are already underway for the second national SORRELL/S
Reunion for Richmond, VA in July 2006.
